Transportation Information UPDATE

Greetings, East Ramapo Parents/Guardians.

As we continue to work through transportation issues triggered by a national and local shortage of licensed school bus drivers, please note the following:

As you may be aware, there is a serious shortage of bus drivers nationwide. We were recently notified by our student transportation providers that there are not enough drivers to transport approximately 10% of our East Ramapo Central School District students to and from school.

Our inquiry into your students' transportation needs is helping the district understand how many of those students actually need bussing, as we know many of our students find alternative transportation.

How does this impact you? Ninety per cent of students will not be impacted by the bus driver shortage. Some may experience delays in pick-ups and/or drop-offs. Some may experience delays in the receipt of your child’s bus pass, but you can access students’ transportation information by visiting and registering for eLINK, the district’s transportation software.

Please help us gain an understanding of your transportation needs by answering ONE question.

While we understand this is not an ideal way to start the 2021-22 school year, please know that we are working round-the-clock with our transportation providers to ensure all students a safe and timely ride to and from school. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to navigate these challenging times.
