Extra-Curricular Activities
Eligibility Policy and Procedures Rationale
It is generally recognized that participation in extra-curricular activities during a student’s high school career provide opportunities to socialize, work as a member of a team, explore interests and activities, and discover new talents.
Spring Valley High School encourages its students to broaden their horizons through involvement in extra-curricular activities.
Since students represent Spring Valley High School in all activities, they are expected to maintain acceptable standards of citizenship, behavior and academic achievement. A pupil may not represent the school in any interscholastic contest or other activity if his/her citizenship and behavior, either in or out of school, is considered to be unsatisfactory. Truancy, tardiness to class or school, cutting classes, failure to apply oneself to school work in accordance with one’s ability, and other infractions of school or community standards, rules and regulations may revoke a student’s eligibility to participate in extra-curricular activities.
