Late to Class

This means being in the building by 7:42 a.m., but entering any class after the late bell for any period.

  • Students are expected to be in every class, on time, at the beginning of every period. If there are circumstances that detain a student, he / she must request a pass from the staff member who caused the delay.
  • Frequent lateness to class is considered a major school infraction since it deprives the particular student and others in the classroom of valuable instruction time. Missing an entire period without an excuse approved by the teacher is considered a cut. The teacher may assign consequences and the student will be referred to their support administrator.
  • After the first two latenesses to a class in a marking period, the student will receive a formal warning. All subsequent latenesses to this class may result in the assignment of detention.
