East Ramapo Valedictorians and Salutatorians 2024

Being named a valedictorian or salutatorian is a significant achievement. East Ramapo Central School District acknowledges the valedictorian as the student with the highest grade point average in the class, and the salutatorian is the student with the second highest GPA in their graduating class. We are proud to recognize Tiffany, Aiman, Darlene and Yasmin for their hard work, discipline and determination that led to this tremendous achievement.

Ramapo High School Valedictorian: Tiffany Mishell Ortiz-Almeida

Congratulations to Tiffany Mishell Ortiz-Almeida ‘24, who has been named Ramapo High School's Class of 2024 Valedictorian. This award recognizes the graduating student with the highest weighted grade point average in the senior class. Tiffany plans to attend Yale University in the fall, where she hopes to study Political Science or Pre-Law, in keeping with her goal of building her platform to help others.
 
When we asked Ramapo High School Guidance Counselor David Schweizer about this extraordinary graduate, he said, “Tiffany embodies the essence of resilience and determination, transforming challenges into opportunities and setbacks into stepping stones. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and her remarkable achievements serve as a shining example for her peers and an inspiration to all of us at Ramapo High School.”

Spring Valley High School Valedictorian: Aiman Rehan

Congratulations to Aiman Rehan ‘24, who has been named Spring Valley High School's Class of 2024 Valedictorian. This award recognizes the graduating student with the highest weighted grade point average in the senior class. Aiman plans to attend NYU in the fall, with the hopes of eventually pursuing a Physician’s Assistant or Anesthesiologist Assistant post-graduate program.
 
When we asked Spring Valley High School Guidance Counselor Carolina Pena-Rosado about this remarkable student, she said, "I have been impressed by Aiman's perseverance and dedication. She is self-motivated and knows her path. It was delightful and refreshing to have her on my caseload."

Ramapo High School Salutatorian: Darlene Konadu Adusei

Congratulations to Darlene Konadu Adusei ‘24 who has been named Ramapo High School's Class of 2024 Salutatorian. This award recognizes the graduating student with the second highest weighted grade point average in the senior class. Darlene plans to attend Boston University in the fall, where she looks forward to studying Biomedical Engineering and joining the BU Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
 
When we asked Ramapo High School Guidance Counselor Valerie Caffrey about Darlene’s remarkable academic achievements, she said, “Darlene Adusei is not only a strong student but is also an exceptional person. With her diligent work habits, self-starter attitude, and desire to learn, Darlene will be successful in all her future endeavors.”

Spring Valley High School Salutatorian: Yasmin Mendez-Sagastume

Congratulations to Yasmin Mendez-Sagastume ‘24 who has been named Spring Valley High School's Class of 2024 Salutatorian. This award recognizes the graduating student with the second highest weighted grade point average in the senior class. Yasmin plans to attend Mount Saint Mary College in the fall, where she looks forward to studying Psychology.
 
When we asked Spring Valley High School Guidance Counselor Evelyn De La Cruz about Yasmin’s impressive academic achievements, she said, "Obviously Yasmin is a scholar. What I admire most is her humility and down to earthness. These famous quotes capture her very essence: 'The best of people is the one who humbles himself the more his rank increases.' - Prophet Muhammad. 'There is a universal respect and even admiration for those who are humble and simple by nature' - Nelson Mandela."
