Lime Kiln Students Featured in New York State’s 2023 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Fine Arts and Essay Exhibition
East Ramapo is so proud of Lime Kiln Elementary School Students Jasslyn, Alison, Stephanie and Keily who participated in New York State Education Department Student Art & Essay Exhibit!
These four students in Ms. Jennifer Henry’s fifth grade class creatively represented what they felt reflected Dr. King's Six Principles of Peace: Trustworthiness Respect Responsibility Fairness Caring & Citizenship. This was initiated by the New York State Education Department, in conjunction with the Empire State Plaza Art Collection Student Art Exhibit.
New York State Education Department’s website reads “Dr. King’s commitment to nonviolent advocacy served as the inspiration for 3,920 students from more than 100 public and private schools across the state to submit their creations.”
Can't wait till February Black History Month when the New York State Education and the Office of General Services will exhibit several pieces of student art on the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
