    On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, the East Ramapo Central School District received information that an individual from Chestnut Ridge Middle School who was remote and not present in the school building, tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result of the individual not being present in the building, no other individuals in the building have been exposed.

Following state-approved protocols, the District immediately notified the small group of individuals who had interacted with this person. The District also notified The Rockland County Department of Health and has started the contact tracing process.

Following our state-approved protocols, the District immediately notified the small group of potentially exposed individuals and initiated deep cleaning processes. Note that the District is working in collaboration with The Rockland County Department of Health and has started the contact tracing process.

    On the evening of Wednesday, November 11, 2020, the East Ramapo Central School District received notification that an individual at Margetts Elementary School tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The investigation has begun and will continue Thursday, November 12, 2020. For this reason, all Margetts Elementary School students and staff will engage in remote (at-home) learning on Thursday November 12, 2020.

  • Closing the Digital Divide: More Than 5,000 Student Chromebooks Being Distributed Throughout the District

    East Ramapo Central School District Interim Superintendent Dr. Ray Giamartino, Jr. announced a major step forward in the ongoing effort to equip every student with digital technology to support home learning and in-person instruction. As of November 5, 2020, the District received 6,224 Chromebook laptop computers from Dell, with distribution to students and families already underway.

  • January 2021 Regents Examinations Cancelled Due to Ongoing Pandemic

    The January 2021 administration of the High School Regents Examination Program is cancelled due to the ongoing COVID–19 pandemic, Interim State Education Commissioner Betty A. Rosa announced today. This cancellation applies to all Regents Examinations that had been scheduled for the January 2021 Regents Examination period. No decisions have been made regarding the June and August 2021 administrations of Regents Examinations or any of the other State assessment programs.

    Important information regarding Grandview and Summit Park Elementary School’s as well as Spring Valley High School’s return to in-person learning on Monday, November 9, 2020 for Cohorts B, AA, ABC: Both Grandview Elementary and Summit Park Elementary schools and Spring Valley High School will return to the Hybrid model, and will be offering students virtual and in-person instruction!
