The East Ramapo Summer Learning Program offers an enriching and engaging experience for students, combining academic instruction with hands-on learning in specialized fields. These programs are designed to strengthen core academic skills while allowing students to explore their interests in sports, technology, or the arts. Through a mix of English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and specialized activities, students will enjoy a well-rounded summer filled with learning, fun, and personal growth.
The learning is free.
Transportation is free.
Free breakfast & lunch are served.
For Students Currently in Grades 8-10: Summer Academy
Location: Spring Valley High School
Eligible Participants: Current Grades 8-10
Monday through Thursday

Get ready for high school with our Summer Academy! Designed for students entering grades 9–11 this fall, this program gives you a head start through hands-on, interactive lessons in Math, Science, ELA, and Social Studies.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll build a "High School Success Toolkit" by mastering effective study habits and learning practical mental wellness strategies to manage stress and anxiety. The experience also includes exciting field trips to keep summer learning fun, engaging, and meaningful!
For Students Currently in Grades K-7: Summer Explorers
All Sports, Fine & Performing Arts, STEM
Location: Kakiat STEAM Academy
Eligible Participants: Current Grades K-7
Monday through Thursday
9:00AM to 1:00PM

Students enrolled in the Summer Explorers Program will experience an infusion of literacy and numeracy through the concentration areas of All Sports, Fine & Performing Arts, and STEM. All students will participate in all three concentration areas, with an additional session in the content area of their choice.
When registering, select the concentration area the student is most interested in.
Eligible Incoming Kindergarteners: Jumpstart

Eligible Participants: Incoming 2026-27 Kindergarteners who have not attended Pre-K

JumpStart is a summer program for incoming kindergarten students in 2026-2027, designed to build foundational academic skills and support social-emotional development. Through interactive activities and play, JumpStart prepares students for kindergarten by focusing on executive function, academics (language & literacy, math, science), social-emotional growth, and life skills.
JumpStart is by invitation only. Eligible families will receive letters mailed to their homes.
