Letter from East Ramapo's New Interim Superintendent Ana Reluzco

Dear East Ramapo Community,

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I introduce myself as the new Interim Superintendent of Schools for the East Ramapo Central School District. For the past 18 months, I have had the privilege of serving as the district’s Assistant Superintendent for Personnel. I begin this new role with excitement about the many opportunities and challenges ahead. As our Board of Education continues its search for a permanent superintendent, I will guide and support this diverse and dedicated school community with energy and a commitment to our students.

To give a better sense of what guides my leadership, I’d like to share a little about my background. 2025 marks my 36th year in public education. I began my career as a teaching assistant and later became a special education teacher, where I learned the importance of patience, empathy and meeting students where they are. That early experience continues to guide me and remains close to my heart, shaping much of my work in various roles in educational leadership in the Hudson Valley. Throughout my career, my focus has always been supporting students, families and the educators who serve them.

Equally important to my professional journey are my personal roots. As a proud first-generation college graduate and the daughter of Cuban immigrants, I carry with me the values of hard work, resilience and familia. An identity as bilingual and bicultural not only influences how I lead, but how I listen to others -  with a deep appreciation for every voice in our school community. 

East Ramapo’s mission includes ensuring that we educate the whole child. I am committed to that mission. It's an honor to serve as interim superintendent. I look forward to working closely with our Board of Education, district administrators, union partners and our school community to build on the strong foundation laid by Interim Superintendent Anthony DiCarlo. Together, we will continue moving toward a future in which every East Ramapo student is supported, challenged and empowered to succeed.
