East Ramapo Bus Safety Initiative

The East Ramapo Central School District is excited to share some important news about a new initiative that puts our students' safety first as they travel to and from school each day.

Thanks to a strong partnership with key community organizations - including The Ramapo Police Department, The Spring Valley Police Department, The Rockland County Department of Health, The American Automobile Association, and, the New York State’s Department of Motor Vehicles- our District is stepping up its efforts around school bus safety.

Be sure your child watches this informative bus safety video, which reviews some of the key bus safety tips that our law enforcement partners are sharing with our students. 

Together with our community partners, the District is providing extensive school bus safety training focusing on the critical role proper behavior plays in keeping everyone safe. This team of dedicated professionals is coordinating bus safety drills, organizing bus safety fairs and speaking directly with our children about passenger and pedestrian behaviors.  

The District is also conducting mandatory training sessions for our contracted drivers, and adding new safety teams to provide enhanced oversight and support.

East Ramapo is collaborating closely with its community partners to ensure that every student arrives at school and returns home safely, every single day.
