Continuous Improvement Model Discussion at January's Principals Meeting
The East Ramapo Central School District’s Mission Statement underscores its dedication to educating the whole child by fostering a healthy, safe, supportive, engaging, and challenging learning environment.
In alignment with this vision, the District is launching a Continuous Improvement Model for the 2024-2025 school year, focusing on three key areas: data-driven initiatives, professional development, and student and staff learning. On January 15, 2025, at the Principals’ Meeting held at Pomona Middle School, East Ramapo leaders gathered to set the tone for this ambitious effort. Following an energizing start that included Eighties trivia and a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots showdown, the principals quickly got down to business, laying the groundwork for transformative leadership.
Targeted supports, such as instructional coaching and tailored professional development, aim to improve student proficiency in ELA and math by 8%-10%. Progress will be closely monitored on a quarterly basis, with comprehensive evaluations assessing both student outcomes and the effectiveness of these efforts.
“These professional development efforts are more than just training sessions; they are a direct investment in our school leaders, teachers and, ultimately, in the success of our students,” said Dr. Ronald Gonzalez, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. “By equipping our educators with the tools and strategies they need to excel, we are ensuring a brighter future for every learner in East Ramapo.”
These initiatives reflect the District’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of individual and collective success for students and staff alike.
