Dear Hempstead Hero Parents,
As we continue to collectively strive to foster a culture of learning, our students are learning and growing. The gifts and talents of our students, combined with the dedication and passion of our teachers, allow us to strive for excellence. We continue to work hard to ensure that Hempstead Elementary School will be recognized as a school that aims for success for both students and teachers, which is well documented with our "Good Standing" awarded from the State of New York. As we cotinue to "Rise Up", we will move from Good to GREAT!
We appreciate the productive partnerships with you to ensure your children can achieve their highest potential. The elementary years are critical times of development for students and I look forward to working with all of you to help make this school year successful for all our Hempstead Heroes. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both home and school. We know a strong home & school connection will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for your children’s success and I want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.
Please remember, if you are dropping off your child/children, they must be dropped off at 8:30 am. Please do not drop students off any earlier because we do not have the staff to supervise students before this time.
Our goal by 2021 is to be proficient in all that we do. By working together and perservering we can get it done by '21. “RISE UP” because we are going “ALL THE WAY UP!”
Ms. Hazel Ortiz
Proud Principal of Hempstead Elementary
