Welcome to the Spring Valley High School Library, where we strive to provide students and teachers with the information, tools and skills to make meaningful connections. Here you will find a robust print collection of over 10,000 volumes, access to thousands of ebooks and audio books, curated resource and database lists and support as you navigate them all!The Spring Valley High School Library-Media Center, through its staff of professional Library-Media Specialist, A.V. Technician, and Clerk-Typist, provides materials and services for independent study, research and inquiry as well as small and large group instruction in conjunction with classroom needs through both print and A.V. materials.The Library-Media Centers are open before and after school to provide student services beyond the school day. In addition to curriculum materials, recreational reading materials, activities and facilities are provided through books, periodicals, newspapers and computer programs.
The mission of the SVHS Library Media Center is to enable students and staff to become effective users of information and ideas by helping them learn how to locate, evaluate, synthesize and utilize information in a variety of formats.
The Library Media Center provides a diverse collection of resources in both print and electronic format to support and meet the needs of the school curriculum.
We promote literacy, enjoyment of reading, viewing and listening, and provide resources that contribute and promote life-long learning.
The Library Media Specialist provides leadership, instruction and consulting in the use of instructional and information technology.
