Curriculum (What is Written) & Instruction (What is Taught)

The most important outcome of the schooling process is the curriculum - it is what is most important to teach collectively across the district, and it is the plan that focuses and guides classroom instruction and assessment.

East Ramapo Central School District Curriculum and Instruction team is charged with researching, monitoring and adjusting curriculum to align with New York State standards; with ensuring that rigorous and effective instruction is provided to our students; and, with connecting appropriate auxiliary services available to students, such as interventions, enrichment, special education, health supports, literacy supports, social work, and/or home teaching. Ultimately, the ERCSD curriculum provides our teachers with a structure for instruction so that they can balance their challenges of teaching, testing and development.
