What is the Family Welcome Center?

East Ramapo's Family Welcome Center is a place where families can go to:

  • Find support
  • Seek information
  • Participate in programs
  • Access services
  • Get to know other parents and children

Do you need help finding available resources in the community?

The Family Welcome Center offer FREE information and referral services for all families in the East Ramapo Central School District. We provide information and referrals for:

  • Childcare
  • Employment
  • Tutoring
  • Donations
  • Counseling
  • Health Insurance
  • Workshops
  • Education/ESL
  • Food Pantries
  • Childcare Subsidies
  • Camps

Family Welcome Center Goals and Key Performance Indicators

Goal 1:  Create a welcoming school environment for families.

  • Provide workshops and information sessions to parents on important issues related to school success 
  • Showcase the various support systems that are a part of each of our schools.
  • Build positive learning environments at home

Goal 2:  Strengthen home, school, and community relationships to ensure student success.

  • Make referrals to CBOs for families in need.
  • Make connections to community organizations regarding families' civil rights and immigration status
  • Provide opportunities for CBOs and local vendors to contribute resources to meet families' needs in and out of school

Goal 3:  Empower our families to navigate the school system and build their capacity to advocate for themselves.

  • Provide ESL classes to second language speakers.
  • Supply information to parents on eligibility for and rights of rights McKinney Vento.
  • Assist families with completing paperwork required by schools.

Goal 4:  Help ensure that parents are able to provide their children with basic and essential resources on an as needed basis.

  • Provide emergency clothing, food, and personal hygiene supplies for families in need through the FWC Food Pantry.
  • Serve as a central location for families in emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with school staff on acquiring essential resources for parents in need.
