Policies
A Board of Education's primary function is to establish policy for the School District. It is through the adoption of written policies that the Board of Education exercises its educational leadership in the operation of the School District. Administrative Regulations for Board of Education Policies are developed under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools and outline procedures for the successful implementation of Board of Education Policies. East Ramapo Board of Education Policies and Administrative Regulations are contained in this manual.
Many Board of Education policies are either mandated by law or predicated on law. In these instances, a reference to the particular law or statute is made at the end of the Policy.
It should be noted that, although a specific gender may be referenced in a policy, it is the Board of Education's intention that it be considered gender neutral.
