Board Meeting Roundup Notes From January 3 Meeting
January 10, 2022
Dear East Ramapo Central School District Families and School Community,
Happy New Year! We are just one week into 2022, and Mother Nature has already delivered a few blows to our region. Fortunately, East Ramapo Central School District persevered. Since the pandemic, our students, teachers, and staff have become adept at remote learning and the transition to remote learning is virtually seamless. With the technology we have in place, our decision to swiftly transition to remote instruction on Friday due to the snow meant we did not have to lose a day of instruction. None of this could have been accomplished without the commitment and resilience of our students, families, teachers, and staff. Thank you!
In case you missed it, here are some of the highlights we discussed during the Board meeting on Tuesday, January 4, 2022:
Students returned to Spring Valley High School after the Fall Remediation Project. Principal Pinel, Asst. Principals Dr. Tippitt, Dr. Olamiju, and Ms. Paneto, along with the East Ramapo Marching Band and the entire staff greeted Tigers back into the renovated building. CLICK HERE to watch the video.
Vaccine Clinics
I got my booster shot, how about you?
East Ramapo is helping the community by making COVID-19 vaccination more accessible to students and their families. These vaccines are not mandatory to attend school but are offered to make access to the vaccines easier for our families.
Hence, last Tuesday we held another COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Kakiat STEAM Academy, bringing the total number of participants up to 171 Adults and 107 Children (5-11 yrs).
The next COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be Tuesday, February 8th between 4pm and 6pm at Kakiat STEAM Academy at 465 Viola Road in Spring Valley.
- No Appointment is Necessary. Open to the public.
- First Dose for adults and children. (This COVID-19 clinic is only for people 5 and older.)
- Boosters are also available.
- Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available at this clinic.
