County Executive Ed Day has issued a County State of Emergency related to the outbreak of measles. Effective at midnight on March 27, 2019, any individual under 18 and unvaccinated against measles will be barred from public places (including schools), until the State of Emergency declaration expires in 30 days, or until the unvaccinated individual receives the MMR vaccine.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Education of the East Ramapo Central School District will hold will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the PLCC (gymnasium) at the central administration building at 105 South Madison Ave, Spring Valley, NY to discuss a possible lease of district property. Please note that the Board may convene into executive session.
State Monitor Charles A. Szuberla, Jr. and former Monitor Dr. John W. Sipple released their 2017-18 report on East Ramapo Central School District?s accomplishments, progress, concerns and recommendations to improve financial stability, academic opportunities and outcomes for all students in the East Ramapo Central School District.
New York State Education Department Commissioner Elia appointed the State Monitors to monitor District operations, including fiscal and operational management and educational programming. In November of 2018, Commissioner Elia appointed Dr. Denise Lowe to replace Dr. Sipple. The State Monitors provide guidance, recommendations and proposed actions to the District and State Education Department for improvements to ensure that students have access to appropriate programs and services and that the District is on a path to fiscal and programmatic stability.
