    We will be reading the book Phineas Gage A Gruesome but True Story About Brain Science by John Fleischman.

    As a class we will incorporate similar strategies that are utilized in ELA class such as : Annotating,  PLORE, and Author's Purpose

     

     

  • Literature Circle Roles

    What Are Literature Circles?

    We will work in literature circles, small groups of students  to discuss the book  in depth. Discussions will be student led and each student will be given a designated role.  Collaboration is key.

    Through the case history of Phineas Gage, a 19th century Vermonter who had an iron bar driven through his brain and lived, the book examines what is known of brain function.
