The Case Management Office provides services to students who have been recommended by the school district for out-of-district placements. This includes BOCES, approved day schools for special education, residential placements, and others.
Once a student has been recommended for an out-of-district placement, the staff in Case Management assumes responsibility for overseeing the student's educational program. The Case Management Office acts as a liaison to the recommended school, monitors student progress, conducts CSE meetings, Program Reviews, Annual Reviews, Manifestation Determination Hearings, and deals with daily situations as they arise. The Case Management staff observes students in their school environments, meets with staff and parents as necessary and ensures that students receive a free appropriate public education that meets their special needs in the least restrictive environment.
