    Board approval of Specifications for the Superintendent Search (describing the background and skills to be sought in candidates for the position)

    Commencing January 5, 2023

    Recruitment of candidates for the position by consultants from School Leadership, LLC

    No later than January 5, 2024

    Submit postings of the East Ramapo superintendent vacancy and desired qualities being sought on various online sites and in professional journals

    FEBRUARY 2024


    February 2024

    Continued recruiting and vetting by the consultants of applications received for the position

    MARCH 2024


    March 2024

    Consultants review with the Board of Education all applications received for the position, identifying those who appear to best meet the specifications adopted by the Board of Education

    No later than March 19, 2024

    The Board of Education identifies which candidates it wishes to invite for a preliminary interview

    Starting March 19, 2024

    Board members further vet the candidates and then identify the candidates they wish to invite back for final interviews

    APRIL 2024


    April 2024

    School Board conducts Finalist interviews and chooses a Superintendent

    April 2024

    Board and Counsel negotiate an employment contract with the proposed Superintendent

    No later than May 7, 2024

    The School Board appoints the new Superintendent, with a beginning date of July 1, 2024
