    #2 - Working Conditions - Lyddie by Katherine Patterson

    Students explore the issue of working conditions, historical and modern-day.

    #3 - Slavery: The People Could Fly - Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave by Frederick Douglass

    This module focuses on the autobiography of Frederick Douglass, with specific attention to how he uses language in powerful ways and how he tells his story in order to serve his purpose of working to abolish slavery.

     

    EUREKA MATH

    Also known as EngageNY, is a Common Core-aligned curriculum. It aims to develop a conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts by using stories. It encourages students to use various mental strategies to solve problems and focus on the process instead of just finding the answer.
