• February 2, 2021 Trustee Election Results

    On February 2, 2021 pursuant to Federal Court order (Case 7:17-cv-08943-CS-JCM), an all-absentee ballot special election was held in East Ramapo Central School District for all nine (9) board of education member seats. The District was divided into nine separate voting wards through Federal Court order with residents voting only for a candidate for the ward in which they live. Ballots were canvassed on February 9, 10, and 11, 2021.

    February 2, 2021 Trustee Election - Counting of Absentee Ballots

    Opening and counting of absentee ballots received through February 9, 2021 for the February 2, 2021 Special Trustee Election will start, Tuesday,February 9, 2021 at 5 p.m. If not complete by 10 p.m. counting will continue on Wednesday at 9:00am and subsequent days starting at 8:30 a.m. until all ballots are counted.

    Ward Election

    In compliance with the Federal Court order, Case 7:17-cv-08943-CS-JCM, the District has been divided into 9 Wards. A special adjourned all-absentee ballot election for all nine Board Trustee positions (one trustee per ward) will be held on February 2, 2021. This is subject to possible future orders of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

    All qualified voters will receive a mailed absentee ballot early in January 2021 to cast their vote. A postage paid return envelope will be provided. You can only vote for candidates who reside and run for election in your ward. All absentee ballots must be mailed by February 2, 2021 in the postage-paid envelope and be received by the District Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 to be counted. An in-person drop-off ballot box will be provided.

    Voters do not have to apply to vote by absentee ballot for the February 2, 2021 Trustee Election.

    Information on this election will be mailed to voters early in December 2020, and a second mailing late in December. More information on the District's Wards including maps will be added to this web site.

     Who Can Vote? To vote, a person must be:

    • a citizen of the United States;
    • a resident of the School District for at least 30 days immediately preceeding the election;
    • 18 years of age or older;
    • personally registered for School District Elections or registered for General Elections with Rockland County.

    If you have not voted in a School District vote/election in the past four years, or if you have not voted in a General Election in the past five years, you must register to vote.

    Not Registered? How To Register to Vote

    You may register at the office the District Clerk  by downloading a Personal Registration form and emailing a scan of the completed form (or a photo of the form if needed) to the District Clerk at kkivi@ercsd.org by 4:30 p.m.on Monday, January 25, 2021.

    You may register to vote with the Rockland County Board of Elections. Keep in mind that the District does not control the time for registrations to be processed by the Rockland County Board of Elections. The County says that you must register at least 30 days before the election.

  • Ballot Drop Off Hours
    East Ramapo Central School District Special Trustee Election Ballot Drop-Off Hours

    The Special Trustee Election Ballots were mailed to East Ramapo Central School District voters.

    Completed mailed ballots must be received by the district by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2021

    Hand delivered ballots to the drop-off ballot box will only be accepted until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

    The hours for the ballot drop-off box located at the Administration building located at 105 South Madison Avenue, in Spring Valley have been extended. The new drop-off ballot box hours are as follows:

    • January 11, 2021 through January 26, 2021, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • January 27, 2021 through January 29, 2021, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
    • January 30, 2021 and January 31, 2021, 12:00pm - 4:00 p.m.
    • February 1, 2021, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
    • February 2, 2021, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
