    • Get your folder
    • Copy down the learning target
    • Reread yesterday’s book (fluency)
    • Go over learning target and explanation of the lesson
    • Mrs. Quinones models the skill (comprehension skill)
    • Together we practice the skill
    • New book is introduced: genre, word work (vocabulary)
    • Students take turns reading out loud and monitoring their reading while using the 3 cues of reading
    • Students practice the skill independently or in groups using the new book of the day
    • Students respond to a short response twice a week (writing)
    • DOK (Depth of Knowledge) questions are asked and answered throughout the lesson
