Over the past year, East Ramapo has been building on the digital learning infrastructure needed to provide our students high-quality education for both in person and remote students. How is it done, and what tools are being used?
On Monday, February 15th, 7th and 8th graders throughout East Ramapo Central School District participated in the King For A Day Oratorical Competition. We proudly announce that Chestnut Ridge Middle School SWEPT the competition, with Sophia, Veronica and Gabriel taking home the trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
In celebration of Black History month, we turn the spotlight on Willie Worsley, the 76-year old who has been working as a basketball coach and security guard for the past 36 years. Mr. Worsley’s claim to fame is that he played at Texas Western as a member of the all-black starting five — the first in NCAA history — that defeated all-white Kentucky to win the 1966 National Championship. That historic moment was depicted in the 2006 film Glory Road. Worsley was only 5 foot 6.
On February 28, 2021, the East Ramapo Central School District received information that one individual who was at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Following state-approved protocols, the District immediately notified the small group of individuals who had interacted with this person. The District also notified The Rockland County Department of Health and has started the contact tracing process.
