150 East Ramapo students in 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th grades were honored during the Rockland Community College Black Achievement Awards on February 6-7, 2019. The award celebrates the outstanding academic achievements, community service, artistic expression, athletic ability, leadership and personal triumphs of students from the Black/African Diaspora.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Education of the East Ramapo Central School District will hold will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the PLCC (gymnasium) at the central administration building at 105 South Madison Ave, Spring Valley, NY. Please note that the Board expects to convene immediately into executive session to conduct interviews of candidates for employment.
State Monitor Charles A. Szuberla, Jr. and former Monitor Dr. John W. Sipple released their 2017-18 report on East Ramapo Central School District?s accomplishments, progress, concerns and recommendations to improve financial stability, academic opportunities and outcomes for all students in the East Ramapo Central School District.
New York State Education Department Commissioner Elia appointed the State Monitors to monitor District operations, including fiscal and operational management and educational programming. In November of 2018, Commissioner Elia appointed Dr. Denise Lowe to replace Dr. Sipple. The State Monitors provide guidance, recommendations and proposed actions to the District and State Education Department for improvements to ensure that students have access to appropriate programs and services and that the District is on a path to fiscal and programmatic stability.
